New Requirements for CDA and CDAE

As of June 30, 2005, all individuals working in a child care facility with a Florida CDAE or National CDA must complete the renewal process every 5 years to maintain an active credential.  For more information or to download a CDAE Renewal Application, click here.

Attention ALL CHILD CARE PROVIDERS!!!!

The Child Care Association of Brevard County, Inc. (CCA), no longer issues certificates for completed Department of Children and Families (DCF) State-Mandated Child Care Training Modules. Training participants must visit the DCF training website at www.myflorida.com/childcare/training, or contact CCTIC by phone or email as listed above.

Please visit www.myflorida.com/childcare/training for classes and registration procedures. To register for additional training opportunities such as the CDA and Continuing Education courses, please visit the Child Care Association of Brevard County, Inc. website at www.childcarebrevard.com.

Method of Registration:

1. Registration is on a “First Come, First Serve Basis”. The first 35 paid participants will be enrolled in the course.

2. Register online for DCF State Mandated Courses at http://www.myflorida.com/childcare/training

Center Mandated Training

All center child care staff are mandated to take 40 hours of training. The 40-hour courses consist of the following classes:

*20 hr. Introduction to Child Care

*10 hr. Behavioral Observation and Screening

*10 hr. (Choose one of the following)

1. Preschool Appropriate Practices (3-5)

2. Infant/Toddler Appropriate Practices (0-3)

3. School Age Appropriate Practices (5-12)

4. Special Needs Appropriate Practices


PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING ONLINE REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS!!!

Go to www.myflorida.com/childcare/training

1. Click on "Training Coordinating Agencies/Training Schedule"

2. Click on "blue area" for Brevard, Seminole, Orange & Osceola

3. Click on "Training Schedule" which is located at the bottom of the page under Community Coordinated Care for Children's address.

4. Find the class you want; select "Register"

5. Find your "Social Security number" (no hyphens) and your "Last Name"; click "Search)

6. Click "Search"

7. Enter personal information or correct any information already in the system.

8. Click on "submit" at the bottom of the page

9. Confirm information displayed; if incorrect, click "Schedule" at the bottom of screen to select another class. If correct continue to "Print"

10. Click on "print" at the bottom of the page

11. Click on "continue print) on the top of the page

12. Click on "Schedule" to select additional classes

13. When you have completed your registration, click on "log-out"

14. Make a copy of your registration and send or bring it along with your fees to the following address within 5 business days:

If payment is not received within this time, your registration will be removed from the roster.


Method of Payment:

1. All registration must be mailed or brought into the:

2. Remittance must be in a check or money order made payable to “Child Care Association of Brevard County, Inc.” NO CASH PLEASE.

3. There will be a $25.00 fee for any returned check.

4. Once you pay for a class, you have 10 working days to withdraw and receive a full refund. There will be NO REFUNDS after 10 days before class starts date.


Fees:

1. 30-Hour “Family Child Care Home” $30.00

2. 3-Hour “Fundamentals of Family Child Care” $15.00

3. 40-Hour Child Care Course

a. 20-Hour “Introduction to Child Care” $25.00

b. 10-Hour “Behavioral Observation & Screening” $15.00

c. One of the following”

(1) 10-Hour “Infant and Toddler Appropriate Practices” $15.00

(2) 10-Hour “Preschool Appropriate Practices” $15.00

(3) 10-Hour “School-Age Appropriate Practices” $15.00

(4) 10-Hour “Owner/Operator of Child Care Programs” $15.00

(5) 10-Hour “Special Needs Appropriate Practices” $15.00

d. 6-Hour “Train-the-Trainer” $15.00


4. Continuing Education (Same as your Annual In-service Training)

a. 3 clock hours $15.00

b. “Beyond Center and Circle Time” $30.00

c. “Circle Literacy Training” $30.00


5. CDA “Child Development Associate Equivalency Program” $65.00

Text Book for CDA $30.00


6. Make-up Classes

Per each module $15.00
